Here in St. John New Brunswick

Daniel and I Ieft as planned at around 7 AM just North of Boston, with about 400 miles left in our mission to transport the bikes to St. John to meet up with Jenn and Erin. They left Atlanta this morning on a leasurely flight to our rendevouz point. The day was completely uneventful, much like the day before. We finally left the super slab about 100 miles into Maine, and began to weave our way over small country roads to our border crossing point. We totally enjoyed the ride with a much better view of the beautiful Maine countryside and we were finally approaching the Canadian border. After my last experience at a Canadian crossing, where I was asked to step inside to be interviewed for a 1/2 hour or so by an immigration officer, I was prepared for the worst. Daniel and I slowly pulled up to the agent, I briefly saw a smile (probably related to our awesome motorcycle cargo), as she started down her litany of questions: "What brings you to our country? Where do you live? Where do you work? Who do you work for?" Which amazingly we seemed to answer correctly! Then came the big one. Are you transporting any alcohol, tobacco, or firearms? I don't think she saw the small bead of sweat quickly form on my brow, but I quickly replied "No Ma'am", knowing that I did indeed have 2 of the 3 items in question! Visions of tortured souls on the TV program "Locked up Abroad" quickly flashed through my mind, but she didn't seem to notice, and after recording my license plate number and a quick review of our passports, we were quickly on our way. Feeling like a real "bad ass", I quickly excelerated and pointed our truck toward St John.

About 1 hour later we were hugging Jenn at the motel entrance and unloading our bikes before heading out to dinner.  After a pretty nice meal at a place called "Montana's", we went back to our room for an early appointment with a bed! We will sleep a little later tomorrow as our ferry departure to Nova Scotia isn't until 12 PM Atlantic time. So good night from your New Brunswick Martin's.
